Marcus Hill
Director of Youth Ministry
Bio
was born and raised in the inner city of Los Angeles, California. I come from a single parent home where I was raised by my mother and grandmother. I accepted Christ when I was 12 years old. I attended Seattle Pacific University. I worked two jobs and went to school full time. I graduated from Seattle Pacific with a Bachelors of Art in Political Science and attended Azusa Pacific University Graduate School where I graduated with my Masters of Divinity.
Although I grew up in the inner city and without a father, God has been faithful. Over the course of 7 years, I have been active as a youth director traveling to over 6 countries, including living in France, and Israel for the summer to preach the gospel of Christ and lead multiple mission trips. As a result I gained a vast knowledge of biblical doctrine and an awareness of the Presbyterian church. I attribute my accomplishments to the grace of God. As Paul told the Church of Philippi, “I am confident that he who has begun a good work in me will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6).
I am absolutely excited to be a part of Community Presbyterian Church. What a blessing it is to fly clear across the United States and feel right at home! My vision as a director, mentor, evangelist, and role model is to teach our youth how to develop a real relationship with God through worship, discipleship, and outreach. I believe in creating space for the Holy Spirit to work in the lives of our youth.
I believe CommPres is a God fearing, Bible teaching, and Holy Spirit filled church. I believe firmly that God has called me to this position and has given me the knowledge, wisdom, and tools needed to go through this journey with the youth.
With your support and the Lord as our guide I anticipate in the coming weeks and months you will see a dynamic change in our youth. Thank you for this opportunity to introduce myself and I look forward in getting to know you all.
God Bless.
